Wix SEO Consultant: What One Does, When You Need One, and What to Ask Before You Hire

Hiring a Wix SEO consultant is a narrower job than hiring for SEO in general. Wix decides some things for you and leaves others open, and the person you hire will spend their time on whichever your site needs. This guide covers what a consultant can change, when you need one, where to look, what it costs, and what to ask.
What does a Wix SEO consultant do?
A Wix SEO consultant improves how a Wix site shows up in search. The work is usually page titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, redirects when pages move, the SEO settings of pages built from a collection, and connecting Google Search Console. Some consultants make the changes in your editor; others hand you a list to make yourself.
"Wix SEO expert" and "Wix SEO specialist" usually mean the same job. The title is chosen by the person using it.
Do I need a Wix SEO expert?
Not always. For a small site with little competition, the fields Wix gives you cover most of the ground, and filling them in is mostly a one-time task. A Wix SEO expert adds three things: choosing which pages are worth the effort, spotting two of your pages competing for one search, and keeping going after the first pass.

What can a consultant actually change on a Wix site?
A consultant can change three kinds of things on a Wix site, and each takes a different amount of skill. The fields every page has are quick to fill in. The settings behind dynamic pages and redirects need someone who has worked on Wix before. Page speed depends partly on the platform, so nobody can promise a number.
The fields every page gives you
Every page on a Wix site has a title and a meta description you can set, images have alt text, and headings are yours to structure. This is the bulk of what most small sites need, and it is all reachable from the editor. It is real work, and it is work you could do yourself, which is worth knowing when you read the price.
The parts that need Wix experience
Dynamic pages built from a collection, the SEO settings behind them, redirects after a page is renamed, and how the site is structured rather than how one page reads. This is where a generalist slows down and someone who has done it on Wix does not. When you ask about Wix experience, this is the part you are asking about.
The part nobody can change quickly
How fast your site loads is partly your content and partly the platform. A consultant can improve the first without touching the second. If someone promises a speed score without having looked at your pages, they are describing a result, not a plan.
Wix SEO consultant, specialist, expert or agency: which do you need?
The title matters less than the work. Consultant, specialist, expert and agency are all self-chosen labels, and two people using the same word can sell very different amounts of work. Ask whether they will change your site or send you a document, how much they do each month, and whether you can see afterwards what changed.

Where do you find a Wix SEO consultant?
Look for a Wix SEO consultant in two places: the Wix Marketplace, where Wix lists Partners who offer SEO, and the open web. When we searched "wix seo consultant" on October 30, 2026, two of the top three Google results were Wix's own pages: a community forum thread and a help article.
Searching the Marketplace and searching the open web give you two different shortlists. Use both.
What should you ask before hiring a Wix SEO consultant?
Ask four questions before you talk about price. Will you work in my editor, or send me a list? What will be different on my site in thirty days? Which parts of Wix have you worked in? How will we know whether it worked? The answers separate providers faster than a quote does.

This is the biggest single difference in what you are buying, and it is rarely stated. A consultant who makes changes needs editor access. If nobody has raised access, nobody has planned to make the changes, and the work will land back on you.
What will be different on my site in thirty days?
A good answer names pages. A weaker one names activities. If the answer is a report, you are buying a report, which is a fair thing to buy and a different thing from what many people think they are buying.
Which parts of Wix have you worked in?
Not a yes or no. Someone who has handled dynamic pages and redirects on Wix will say so in a sentence. Someone who has only edited page titles will say that too, if you ask in a way that lets them.
How will we know whether it worked?
Agree the measure before the work starts, in terms of your site rather than a general claim about search. Rankings move for many reasons besides the work. What a provider can be held to is what they changed, and whether those pages perform better than before.
Google suggests similar questions for hiring anyone to do SEO, including whether they will "share with me all the changes you make to my site".
How much does a Wix SEO consultant cost?
A Wix SEO consultant's price depends on how much work is done and who makes the changes. In an Ahrefs poll of 439 SEO providers, updated August 15, 2024, the most common hourly rate was $75 to $100.
