How Companies Post on Social Media Without Giving a Discount (Coffee Edition)

While discounts and other sales promotions can be an easy choice for businesses to do on social media, they can also be quite harmful to the company's image and bottom line. Here are a few alternatives to this common problem. (This demonstration is for coffee drinkers)


1. Show a Benefit


A great example of this is posting a picture of a finished service, your product, or a benefit that your customer gets. Like feeling the love that comes with the perfect coffee.





2. Share a Moment


A great moment can be a video of your favorite moments of your day or something really genuine. Tell a story of a good thing that happened today with a customer. These moments are great to post as a story on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn. Sharing the horrible feeling of not having coffee can go a long way in selling coffee to them.





3. Introduce Yourself


Here is a perfect example of how you can introduce yourself or employees on a company social media account. It is a great way to get personal without getting too personal on a business account.


Lawyers and Accountants will often use this as their only type of post for fear that they will divulge too much critical information about their clients with a client testimonial.



4. Give More Information


Tell a little more about how you do what you do. Everyone needs to have a special moment with coffee. Tell people how your coffee is better than Dunkin Donuts coffee. It can't be that hard, can it?


5. look At Other Accounts



Chances are, you aren't the only business doing what you are doing. Look at what other companies are doing in your industry and ask yourself, "What are they doing differently?" It goes a long way!
